Stephen Prebble

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Stephen’s bio

Stephen joined CCL in 2015 as a Project Manager. His wide range of experience in both construction and Three Waters project management set him on track to be Operations Manager in 2022. He has experience working on high-stakes projects in New Zealand, the UK, and Australia. He is passionate about promoting CCL’s values while delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget and growing our people and capability.

He has a comprehensive understanding of resource management and demonstrates expertise in strategically planning and programming large-scale civil construction projects. From the initial stages of engagement through to the successful completion of the project, Stephen expertly navigates complex challenges, ensuring that all resources are utilised effectively and efficiently.

Daniel Burns

DRILL DIVISION MANAGER

Daniel’s bio

Daniel started with CCL in May 2015 as a Team Leader. He quickly showed a skill for leading a team and getting the best out of people to deliver major client projects successfully. He has strong technical knowledge, ability, and broad experience in various methodologies, such as pipe ramming, pipe bursting, and horizontal directional drilling. He is a motivating force on site and will work alongside his team with a hands-on approach. Daniel has built a great rapport with the ground crews and other managers. He instils pride in his team’s work, continuously passes on his knowledge and troubleshooting skill by training his team on the job.

Steve Scrimshaw

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Steve’s bio

As well as being a director at CCL, Steve is a highly skilled and technically knowledgeable tradesperson who has worked for many years at all levels of the industry. He has built a reputation at CCL for providing our clients value, excellent service, and high-quality outputs. His strengths lie in critical thinking, planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting to get the best result for the client. He embraces a challenge and thrives in an environment where unexpected things are sent to try us.

Steve works effectively as CCL’s training and development manager and has successfully retained and grown the skill levels within the business. Working as a mentor and instructor with many team members to assist them in obtaining trade qualifications and progressing their career options.

Shoaib Gani

PROJECT MANAGER

Shoaib’s bio

Shoaib joined CCL fulfilling our need for a project manager with a wide range of civil construction experience. He has an agile and adaptive approach to his work, effectively utilising a variety of applications and tools to plan, manage and control the delivery of his projects.

Shoaib has a strong commitment to precision and innovation and success to him is to deliver a project seamlessly from inception to completion while maintaining high standards of quality assurance.

Pieter Van Wyk

PROJECT MANAGER

Pieter’s bio

Pieter joined CCL in 2017. He has a strong background in structural engineering and extensive experience building bridges and highway retaining structures in South Africa. He started with CCL on the ground, getting hands-on experience building pipelines on the Wellington Water network.

Pieter moved through the Team Leader and Site Manager roles, gaining experience developing and managing a site team. Now, as Project Manager, he brings valuable insight and knowledge to the challenges and opportunities of project delivery. His experience in multiple roles at CCL gives him a keen understanding of getting the best from his team, planning and preparation, and building projects efficiently and safely.

Kit Hennig

PROCUREMENT LEAD

Kit’s bio

Kit joined CCL in 2022 assisting the project managers. His extensive experience in managing large scale civil construction projects and intimate knowledge pf pipes and fittings brought versatility and he transitioned into a full time procurement lead. He is experienced in budget monitoring, cost control, and quantity surveying for large construction projects. He has in depth knowledge of product and material specifications the requirements of the local authorities.

Kit is skilled at interpreting and understanding the detailed plans and specifications of a project and expertly handles schedules and resource procurement. He is committed to ensuring stakeholders, clients and engineers obtain an outcome of the highest standard.

Lofi Perez

SITE MANAGER

Lofi’s bio

Lofi is one of CCL’s longest serving employees who has gained his valuable knowledge of civil construction from the ground up. He has extensive experience building Three Waters pipe networks of every scale and in many roles within the business. Lofi’s intimate knowledge of CCL’s culture, product and services makes him a steadying force on site, he is well respected by his team and colleagues and takes a personal interest in the development of his team members. He has developed a team that strives for high quality and productivity through their close knit relationship and pride in their work

Hein Geldenhuys

SITE MANAGER

Hein’s bio

Hein joined CCL in 2018 as a member of the civils team. He has developed his expertise in HDPE pipe welding to the level that he is now training and supervising others in EF and butt welding. Hein has a never-say-die attitude and determination to do what it takes to complete the project tasks on time and within budget. Hein’s early background is in IT and telecommunications. After emigrating to New Zealand from South Africa, he worked for Chorus on fibre installation projects before moving to civil construction. His drive and natural leadership skills led to his promotion to Site Manager.

Garrison Pullen

SITE MANAGER

Garrison’s bio

Garrison joined CCL as a skilled and versatile machine operator with wide experience operating directional drills, excavators and hydrovac vehicles. Around this time CCL formed a specialist directional drilling division and Garrison became part of that team as the primary directional drill operator. Garrison became Team Leader of that team in 2022 through showing strong drive and commitment to develop CCL’s reputation as the leading directional drill contractor in the Wellington region.

Garrison is motivated to develop his leadership and technical skills and has taken ownership of the performance of the drill team when he became Site Manager. He displays a passion to do the best job possible, find opportunities for drilling and deliver the efficiencies and benefits that come with that. He enjoys learning and improving every day.
