Drainlayer

Job Description

Provide trades level drainlaying services to a high standard of skill and workmanship within one of our teams. You will coach, mentor and motivate a team, alongside a team leader and site manager, working to detailed specifications, programmes and health and safety requirements.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Expertise in laying, replacing and repairing water, stormwater and wastewater pipes to the highest quality standards.
  • Experience in excavation, locating various underground utilities, safe digging and trenching procedures to various depths and degrees of pitch.
  • Troubleshooting, innovating and problem solving a variety of technical aspects on a pipe installation job.
  • A Class 1 drivers license is essential.
  • A trade qualification. We’ll arrange any ongoing CPD training and foot the bill for maintaining any certifications you need.

What We Offer You

  • The opportunity to take ownership and pride in completing high value, quality work that really matters and makes a difference to our communities.
  • The prestige and sense of accomplishment that comes from showing and teaching younger or less experienced team members how it’s done, passing on your skill and experience to the next generation of tradespeople.
  • Rock solid job security in an industry sector that is thriving and a company that is strengthening and growing within that sector. Let’s face it, you don’t get more essential than water. It’s never going away because of this trend or that interest rate.
  • Plenty of opportunity to grow your skills. If you want to learn a few other disciplines we can help you do that – leadership, mentorship, entry into site management and project management, reading plans and technical drawings, procurement. It’s all there if you want it.
  • A down to earth, supportive, fun loving team environment with loads of social activities and good times to be had when you’re off the clock.
  • An awareness that you want some free time, so we don’t work you into the ground. We try to fit the work into a standard 44 hours between Monday – Friday to leave your weekends free. Overtime is usual available in the week if you’re up for it. Occasionally there might be emergency work outside of hours and we’ll compensate you well if you go for that.

We also offer all the other usual stuff….

The pay rate will be great – it’s negotiable. Free medical insurance (surgical, with an option to add on more if you choose). A vehicle for work and personal use. Inclusion in our project based profit share scheme which is a cash pay out every quarter. A social club run by the staff for the staff at a very attractive weekly subscription. And when you shine on the job and pull off some amazing finish against all odds – fame and legendary status in the CCL universe.
