Civil Contractors New Zealand hosted the Cable Price Wellington Wairarapa Regional Excavator Operator Competition on Saturday at Brewtown in Upper Hutt. An annual event to test the prowess and stamina of the regions best digger operators, CCL have traditionally stood up a team each year to compete and this year was no exception.

Putting the excavator through its paces, using it to perform precision tasks like painting, stacking tyres, dunking basketballs and pouring drinks were CCL operators Honey Maui, Hohepa Whare and Jamie Nicholas. They also had to compete at truck-loading and precision driving challenges.

The perfect Wellington summer conditions on the day helped them maintain focus and perform to their highest abilities. We’re proud of all three entrants. We’re totally stoked to say that Jamie and Hohepa finished in the Top Three on the day and will find out this week if one of them has been selected to enter the National Excavator Competition which takes place at the Central Districts Field Days in Feilding in March.
